Free or Buy one Get one Catch Phrases

I think we all heard it on the radio or see it on TV. These catch phrase stores advertise to everyone. "Come to Payless for our BOGO sale, buy one get the second 1/2 off". Wait, did I heard this right. Buy one get one 1/2 off??? WTF??? That mean this phrase can be converted into buy one get one 0% off, or buy one get one at 200% of the original price. So why is the phrase BOGO even introduce when it is not even relevant. I am a very analytical person and for me, when I hear BOGO, unless it is Buy one Get one free, the BOGO term doesn't really make sense or matter.

Let's move onto something I thought of this morning. I recently purchase some "Pretzel Crisps". Basically they are a flatten pretzel that u can enjoy like a cracker, and now they are flavored also. Great, don't really have a problem eating them, especially if you throw on some hummus. Great combination, and definitely satisfy that sudden hunger crave. Now as far as I know, this product is brand new. Packaging says it, the lady at the door of Stop & Shop, that is giving out free sample says it. So, its brand new product. But what i do not understand is, also on the top of the bag it says. "20% more". Wait, 20% more??? More than what? more than nothing? Cuz it didn't exist before? I am a math major, +20% of zero, is still zero.

I don't want to read into this too much, but if the packaging is telling you, you are getting more of something for the same price. It's not a good thing. Churk-Logic: They have been ripping you off up to this point, where you could of gotten the 20% more amount for the same price from the get go. I guess there isn't much you can do about it. I know I gravitate towards packaging that says, free ... or more ... or get this ...
